Job Description

Gibsons is looking for an experienced Plant Operator for our Williston, North Dakota process, recovery and disposal and saltwater disposal facility. Job Expectations: Operating proficiency: * Adhere to Gibson Energy procedures and policies. * Prioritize and perform daily maintenance and tasks as required and instructed. * Proficient understanding to follow all facility Standard Operating Procedures. (SOPs) * Proactive response to facility/operational deficiencies and difficulties immediately. * Perform all operational duties in the most time effective and safest manner possible. * Gather information (cuts, samples, etc.) and document accordingly. * All samples must be taken using the correct procedure including labeling and storing properly. * Ensure that the worksite stays “In Control” and safe at all times. * Inform the Lead Operator and/or Facility Manager of all related activities on an ongoing basis. Customer Service and Relations: * Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Keep a documented log of all communication for reference. * Book and co-ordinate all incoming and outgoing loads at the plant. No load that falls within Gibson acceptance parameters will be refused unless absolutely necessary. This requires either a Lead Operator or the Facility Manager’s consent. * Unload/load trucks as quickly as possible while maintaining a safe worksite. * Ensure that an appropriate orientation is completed for all visitors, drivers and contractors at the plant site. All hazards, procedures and expectations must be clearly communicated at this time. * Develop positive relationships with landowners and neighbors, as well as, our customers. Facility Housekeeping: * Gibson has a very high expectation regarding housekeeping at all facilities. * “Pride of Ownership” is a company value. Employee Management: * Demonstrate and encourage teamwork and cooperation among all staff at all times. * Participate in training and development, as instructed, with ongoing support from the Lead Operator and/or Facility Manager. * Notify the Lead Operator and/or Facility Manager of all disputes immediately. Plant and Personal Safety: * Exercise all Gibson policies and procedures in a safe and efficient manner. * Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations and ensure they are complied with. * Attend and participate in the monthly safety meetings. * Willingly participate in the scheduled mock emergency exercises. * Accountable to submit all inspection checklists as assigned. * Complete and submit task observations as required. * Responsible to complete and submit Hazard ID forms for any hazards identified * Complete and issue Safe Work Permits along with Hazard Assessments as required. * Understanding of the plant’s overall expense budget and adhere to it daily. * Experience with the facility’s Emergency Response Plan, Material Safety Data Sheet and the SOP correspondence. Administration: * Ensure an accurate and timely flow of the required daily paperwork. * Defined proficiency with the in-house data base system. (Nemo) * Recommend modifications to the SOP and MSDS binders as required. * Positive inter-company relations are expected and required. *This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Incumbent will be expected to perform duties.
