Weekly Rig Count Report – US Rigs Up By 29

This was a very good week for US rig business. According to the most recent rig count report from Baker Hughes, total US rig count is +29 for the last week.

Total of +26 in oil rigs and +3 in gas rigs, bringing the total count of active oil and gas rigs to 975, from 946 previous week.

According to the most recent report from Baker Hughes, there was +26 in oil rigs (total oil rig count 791, highest since April 2015), +3 in gas rigs (184 in total) and no change in ‘miscellaneous’ rigs (0 in total), making it a total of +29 rigs in the USA last week – biggest weekly rise since January 2017.

More than half of added oil rigs were located in the Permian basin and eastern New Mexico where the number of active units increased by 10 this week to 437, the most since January 2015.
